San Nicandro Garganico is a beautiful city with about 16,000 inhabitants.
It is part of the Gargano National Park, park of international interest to the specific flora and fauna.
In San Nicandro, the first public primary education was established in 1809.
In 1834 the first school building was built: it was known as Piazza IV Novembre.
Piazza IV Novembre has a school population of about 1,200 pupils, aged between 3 and 11 years, it is the headquarters and home to the School Director, Office of the Secretaria and some classes of pre-primary schools and primary schools.
Three other schools are neighborhood frequented by students from pre-primary and primary school.
The pre-primary school is attended for 8 hours a day, each class is assigned to two teachers.
The primary school is attended by pupils per 30 hours for some classes with only one round morning session from 8.15 to 13.15, Monday to Saturday: some of these are assigned to a team of teachers and others entrusted to a teacher prevalent; per 40 hours by other students who observe the full-time with 8.15 hours 15.15, Monday to Friday, Saturday from 8:15 am to 13.15. undertaken by two joint holders of the class teachers.
In the various classes are included immigrants students and disabled students, followed by specialist teachers.
The teaching of the Catholic religion is given by teachers with specific title.
Our students, as well as performing curricular activities provided by the National Guidelines: Italian, Mathematics, History ,Geography, Science, Physical Education, Art, Music, Religion, ITC, English, etc, participate, in extra-school hours, in activities that the school proposed in the POF (Training Plan Offer) as an extension of Studies.
The activities are carried out both in classes and in different laboratories: Laboratory of Computer Science, Art-Music-Theatre,and in the Gym in which the various institutions we have.
For more than three years, our school participates in the PON (National Operational Programmes), financed by European funds and aimed at supporting and strengthening the basic skills of both pupils and teachers.
Each project issues certificates be spent over the course of study.
We think pupils, teachers, families and entire communities are eager to know and deal with the participating country
